This excellent New Mexico outfitter is located in the highly sought after Unit 12 elk zone. This area is known for its elk hunting opportunities, particularly for trophy bulls. You will hunt in west-central New Mexico and near bordering Arizona. The unit contains a mix of private, state, BLM and tribal land. Winner receives an Absent landowner tag. Drawing an Elk tag for this area can be very difficult to obtain for non-residents.However, this outfitter has a private ranch totaling 11,200 acres, and the State of New Mexico has authorized him to sell 10 rifle and 3 archery bull elk tags along with 4 cow elk tags per year. The result is that our Winner is guaranteed a license without having to worry about the draw. Otherwise, should you try to draw the unit – you most likely will be unsuccessful in actually pulling a tag. The Outfitter has upgraded his tag designation this year and therefore Ultimate Hunt Giveaways is also excited to announce that our Winner will not only be permitted to hunt on the private land owned by the Outfitter, but this unique tag entitles our Winner to hunt anywhere in the entire zone.
With a combination of mesas, hills, valleys and open pinyon and juniper flats, there is a little bit of everything on this property. Parts of the ranch are wooded with very thick cedar and pinion trees.They pride themselves on offering high quality hunts and overall amazing experiences for their hunters. The ranch is very much a family setting.
All Bull Elk hunts are guided 1×1. This is becoming rare these days as the trend has shifted more to 2×1 guiding as the standard client to guide ratio. So it’s you alone with your guide. Add to that the fact that all of their guides have been on the ranch at least 8 years and have extensive knowledge of the area. Due to this well thought out program, it’s not surprising that regardless of weapon choice, their opportunities historically have been close to 100% with harvest rates around 90-95%. Realistic expectations should be for bulls in the 300-320” class — with the biggest ever taken on the ranch going a whopping 383”. Transportation on the ranch is done by truck or side by side with spot and stalk being the most common hunting technique. They can tailor the degree of physical exertion to match what the hunter is capable of.
The beautiful main lodge is where you will gather and have meals. The newly remodeled Rock House located about 200 yards from the lodge is where the sleeping quarters are located.
